Release Day Blitz – The Way You Look Tonight by Jo Tannah

The Way You Look Tonight Banner

As a member of a wealthy and influential family, Jaime “Jamie” Abello had his life mapped out. Being shipped off to LA with an insurance scam linked to his name was not part of his plan.

It had seemed so simple: pass the Philippines Medical Board Exam;practice in the family-owned and -controlled hospital; join the Board by age forty; and find a partner with whom he could settle down and be himself.

Instead, his father supplies him with a surfeit of money and dangerous secrets and sends him to a strange country.

The Pediatric Residency Program Jamie applies for brings him face to face with untouchable Program Director, Miles Kwon, whom Jamie soon finds to be a man of integrity and vision.

When tragedy strikes, Jamie finds himself falling deeper into depression. Unexpectedly, it’s Miles who helps him work through his pain.

Will Jamie ever experience a life with a loving partner, or will his father’s secrets cause him to lose everything he’s gained?

Back in Manila, I had been vomiting into the pail my private nurse was holding up for me when my father entered the room, accompanied by Letty. He rushed the nurse out the door while Letty took over pail duty.

“Jamie, you are leaving for LA once we get you out of here. Dr. Martinez has been instructed to clear you to be released from the hospital.” My father was succinct.

“Wha… why?” I tried to speak, but emesis got in the way.

“Margarita. She has finally gone off the deep end. She and your brothers are meeting with the board. I sent in my resignation last night and they only just got the email. I am leaving for Morocco in two hours, and you are flying out as soon as Dr. Martinez gives you something to put a stop to your vomiting. Letty has sent all the details to your alternate email account.”

I tried to sit up, confused about what was going on, but Letty pressed me back onto the bed. I squinted up at her, and then at my father. “What’s going on?”

“Everything is in the email I sent you. Don’t think about anything else right now, just focus on getting well enough to stand without falling on your face. You need to take that flight. It’s going to be a long one and you’ll need your energy to get things moving,” Letty said.

“Call me once you get to LA. I will send you an email with my new contact numbers.” My father sighed and ran his hand over his face. “I won’t see you for a long time, hijo, but you need to get out as quickly as you can. It’s best you don’t know anything until you get there. Letty will get in touch with you as soon as you’re settled in the hotel. Remember: get to LA and follow the instructions. Once you’re done, call me. That’s all you need to know for now.”

My father leaned down to kiss my head, but wrinkled his nose and shook my hand instead. He turned to leave, then hesitated. Returning to my side, he closed his mouth, as if not daring to breathe in, and then bent to hug me. “I love you, hijo. I wish I could explain more but there’s so little time. I’ll see you on the other side,” he said as he patted my back. Then he turned away, avoiding my eyes, and left the room.

About the author

JO TANNAH is a wife, mother, and blogger by day, writer by night. It can be difficult to say the least but it is a challenge that keeps her on her toes.

She grew up listening to folktales her father and nannies spun to either entertain the children or send home a message. These narratives stayed with Jo until she finally decided to write them down in a journal way back when she kept one. Years later, going through junk led to finding a long forgotten box and nestled within it was the journal. Reading over the stories of romance, science fiction, and horror that she had taken time to put to paper all those years before brought to light the realization that they were tales she’d never come across in her readings.

The tales Jo write are fictional but all of them are based on what she grew up with and still dreams about. That they have an M/M twist is simply for her pleasure. And she hopes, yours as well.

Video Trailer

CALLUM RAN UNTIL his lungs burned, every breath ragged and painful. Fear spurred him on, though fog began to cling to the rough mounds of the barrows, making such flight dangerous. Stones stabbed through his worn boots with each footfall, but he daren’t stop. There had been voices in the shadows….

Exhaustion slowed him, his chest heaving as he fought for air. Dusk spread its dark mantle on the landscape, and he shivered as a finger of dread traveled up his spine. Perilous to be on the moors at night without shelter. He cursed the ill fortune that had sent him this way, but he was hungry and ill. He’d followed the will-o’-the-wisp, thinking they were the lights of a farmhouse. His brothers would crudely have called them swamp gas and continued on the road, but Callum had always been the fool.

An owl hooted in the semi-darkness, making his skin crawl. “Sweet Lord,” he muttered, heart thumping. “Protect me—”

He stumbled on a loose stone and fell heavily against a dark mound of earth. Oh God! The ground caved in under him and he dropped into the barrow in a shower of dirt.

“Save me!” he sobbed as he scrambled to his knees.

Sinewy arms reached up from the blackness and twined around him. Callum screamed, but no sound escaped his throat, choked with terror. He was yanked against a hard chest and hands ran over him, disembodied in the darkness.

“Soft. Sweet.” A voice sliced the silence and a cold breath washed over his face. He gagged on the waft of rot and decay. The tip of a dry tongue scraped along his jaw and he shuddered against the body under him. “Nice strong bones to gnaw,” the voice continued. “Sweet marrow to suck and swallow. Shall I eat you, my lovely one?”

Callum whimpered as the low tones wound through his head. The mists parted and moonlight filled the barrow, showing him the creature. He gasped at the cold beauty of its face. Eyes dark as pitch burned into him and brushed against his soul. Lush lips, dripping honey, overripe, took his mouth in a kiss that sent his pulse into a riot of hunger and desire.

2015NewAbout the Book

Vegas is a hot phone sex operator who knows just how to make your deepest, darkest fantasies come true either with a gentle whisper in your ear or with a rough growling command. When he’s in control, you know you’re in good hands. Vegas can tickle or scratch whatever itch or fetish a caller can throw at him.
But his job at the exclusive ‘Black Vanilla’ has its dark side, which becomes all too clear when Vegas receives a call one night that hits a little too close to home.

Somewhere out there, someone’s watching him. Someone who’s taken their fantasy one step too far. It isn’t long before Vegas finds himself entangled in a web of dark and dangerous obsession. An obsession that can only end one way.
“Dirty Talk” will take you deep into the world of stimulating oral desire and blur the lines that exist between our ultimate fantasies and harsh reality.

“You’ve landed with Vegas, what’s your pleasure?” Vegas cooed into his headset.

“Uh, h-hi,” said a shy quiet voice that sounded far away.

“How we doing tonight?” Vegas drawled.

“Good, uh, I’ve never… You know… I mean, I don’t normally do this sort of thing.”

“Hey no worries, you’ve come to the right place if you’re looking for a good time.”

“My name’s… James.”

“Well nice meeting you James. Like I said, I’m Vegas… And like the strip; I’m open all night and here for your pleasure!”

Inside Vegas was cringing at his own choice of come-on line. At how corny he had to be if he wanted anything to come of a call.

James chuckled to himself and made a sound like he was shifting positions.

“So, are you up for a good time, James?”

Use their name, they love that, Vegas could hear London’s immortal words in his ear as he sat back in his chair and propped his feet up on the desk. He had kicked off his flip-flops and from where he sat; he inwardly admired the tanned skin and golden hairs on his firm legs. While not overly vain, picking out his good qualities always helped him to sell the call.

“Uh, yeah, I guess.” James hesitated, the shyness coming through in his shaky words.

“Good, me too, so why don’t we start by you telling me what you’re into,” Vegas purred. He was imagining a shy Jake Gyllenhaal, quiet and demure, but with a killer body to make up for his social shortcomings.

James chuckled uncomfortably to himself again, obviously unsure as to how to approach this. A moment of silence passed and Vegas decided to take the lead.

“Can I tell you what I look like?”

“Yeah, please… I’d like that.”

“What kind of guys do you normally go for?”

“Umm, I dunno…”

“Well I’m pretty muscular, is that alright?” Vegas asked.

“Oh, yeah.”

Excellent, going with beefy.

“I love going to the gym and working out,” Vegas lied, putting on his best straight-boy voice. “I love working up a sweat and watching the tiny drops roll down my tight body.”

He could hear more shifting sounds coming from James. Vegas hoped it was him hardening in his pants at the thought of Vegas shirtless and sweaty.

“Yeah, I like the sound of that….”

“Sometimes when I’m at the gym, I get so turned on looking at the other hot guys all around me.”

“I bet you do… I bet you get lots of guys staring at you.”

“Mmm hmm. I love it when they stare. I always assume they’re thinking of getting naked with me… Would you like to get naked with me?”

“Oh, fuck yeah!” James exclaimed.

He was getting excited now, Vegas could tell by his tone of voice; his breathing was getting quicker, and his voice slightly strained.

“When I’m done working out, and I’m all hot and sweaty, I love taking off my shirt and letting everyone look at my big pecs and muscular biceps.”

“Are-are you hairy or smooth?” he stammered.

Always a tough question to answer.

Does he want me to be smooth or hairy?

“Oh, baby—I’m smooth all over.” Vegas took a stab in the dark and hoped it was what his caller was hoping for.

The grunt followed by what sounded like a zipper confirmed that Vegas had made the right assumption.

“All over?” he asked, his words now coming out in short bursts, as if he was straining to speak at all.

He’s jerking it already.

“Yup… allllll over, baby,” he purred again, accentuating his words for erotic effect.
